Professional fur cleaning is recommended when needed, depending upon the wear and care you give your garment. Normal dry cleaning methods are not advised. Cleaning fur differs from cleaning fabric in another important way. The chemical that must be used to clean the fur pulls out the natural oils along with the grime and, therefore, these oils must be restored by the professional fur cleaner.

A small seam opening in your furs lining may lead to a tear, and the subsequent need for complete lining replacement. If you have a loose hook or ring, attend to it in a timely manner - by securing the closures you eliminate undue stress on the fur, often times leading to the tearing of pelts. Be sure to have your fur coat thoroughly inspected and maintained annually in the spring.
